It’s Friday and we all know what that means, right? Yes, it’s the beginning of the weekend, but at our Haus it’s so much more!
This Oktoberfest we’re serving up daily food specials and Friday’s feast is near and dear to our hearts (or shall we say stomachs). It’s HB-Oktoberfest Rouladen and it is DE-LIC-IOUS.
In Germany, you may typically find Rouladen-a braised beef roll-up with mustard, onions, bacon and pickles-gracing tables for Sunday lunch, but it is also a common dinnertime specialty. At Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas, it’s the best way to kick off your two days of no work and all play.
So let’s get down to brass tacks, shall we? We’re going to walk you through step by mouth-watering step of this festive dish.
It starts with a choice cut of meat, sliced into large thin pieces.
Each slice is layered with tangy mustard and rich bacon. Mmmmm, bacon.
A smattering of onions is next before a juicy pickle slice is placed at the end.
Each beautiful piece is then tightly rolled and held with a toothpick to seal in the flavors.
Our master chefs slow cook each roll-up in a rich sauce until they reach the peak of culinary perfection.
Are you hungry yet?
Rouladen is typically served with either mashed potatoes or potato dumplings and pickled red cabbage. At our Haus, you’ll get it paired with traditional homemade spätzle and red cabbage. You’ll find the spätzle is the best way to soak up the delicious gravy. Trust us, you’ll want every last drop.
If you think this sounds good (and if you don’t, we may have to talk), wait until you try it with our Oktoberfestbier! Both are only here for a limited time so come on in and let us know what you think. Prost!
