Holiday Heroes and Vicious Villains
Superman has Lex Luther, Batman has the Joker, the Ninja turtles have Shredder, even Tweety has Sylvester. We’re talking about nemeses.
If you think about it, we all have a nemesis. Whether it was a junior high bully or current co-worker, we all have that villain in our lives we just can’t shake. Even Santa Claus.
Yes, we said good ol’ St. Nick.
Who could have a beef with Santa? You ask. He’s just a jolly guy spreading cheer to good girls and boys.
Well, there is someone (or some thing) in this world that is Santa’s antithesis.
His name is Krampus.
Derived from Germanic folklore, Krampus is a half-goat, half-demon creature donning gnarly horns and a long pointed tongue set between sharp fangs. He has one purpose: to punish children who misbehave throughout the Yule season. No coming down the chimney with a sack full of goodies for this guy. Krampus gets his jollies by punishing those on the wrong side of nice.
While Santa Claus watches us throughout the year and makes his appearance on December 25, Krampus is rumored to be found during the first week of December, unleashing himself around December 5th, roaming the streets in search of miscreants.
If you’re reading this that means you may be safe from the clutches of Krampus’ cloven hooves. But just to be sure, there is still plenty of time to solidify your spot on the “Nice” side. We hear Krampus has a soft spot for those who love authentic German food, live music and the best beer in Las Vegas (must be because of his German roots).
Looks like Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas is your only hope for pleasing both Santa Claus and Krampus this season. Don’t miss your chance to ensure a happy holiday. Join us every day of the week for fun and surprises not even Santa can deliver. You’ve been warned!
