MC Johann never ceases to amaze the crowds of guests that join us nightly with his variety of instruments that keep everyone dancing. Especially impressive, are the tricks he can do with his massive Swiss alphorn.
He balances it on his lips with no hands while playing a song, swings it around the Haus, and places it on tables so guests can experience the vibration.

Now that we’ve had a chance to entertain you a bit, let us provide a little background on what a Swiss alphorn actually is…
The Swiss alphorn is one of the original woodwind instruments and was founded in Switzerland in the mid- 16th century. The shepherds would use it to call in the cows from the pastures for milking time. Over the years, it has gained popularity in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Austria, and Germany. Today, instead of herding in the farm animals, it’s played for pure enjoyment, but it’s harder to play than you would think.
There are 12 individual tones that are produced but only by using careful lip tension and breathing techniques. In other words, it takes a lot of training, practice, and skill to get it just right.
At our Haus, MC Johann isn’t the only one who has this mastered, we are fortunate to have many bands grace us with these talents all year long!
Come and see their amazing tricks for yourself and reserve your seat now!
