If you have had the pleasure of visiting Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas, or any other Hofbrauhaus location, you may have noticed a funny word making its way into many of our menu items.
We’re talking about Schnitzel
Go ahead and giggle. We’re used to it.
Now that we have that out of the way, it’s time to get serious.
Schnitzel is one of our most classic and popular recipes, but what is it exactly? Let’s break it down.
Schnit · zel /’SHnitsəl/: noun
Tender meat, pounded thin, breaded and pan-fried to golden perfection.
The word Schnitzel is believed to come from the word der Schnitz which means a slice or a cut. This also shares a similarity to Schneider which means a tailor. Get it…tailor, cut.
Anyway, that’s a simple way to put it, but there is much more to our authentic Bavarian dish. Covering almost an entire plate, Schnitzel is impressive by both size and flavor. Its light breading creates a flawlessly crispy exterior that opens up to the juicy meat within. Then there’s the flavor. We use an authentic blend of spices imported straight from Germany to create a signature flavor that gets better with every bite!
A SCHNITZEL FOR EVERYBODY
The best part is that there’s more than one way to enjoy Schnitzel. Whether you prefer chicken or pork, sauce, or no sauce, we’ve created a Schnitzel style for every palate.
Schnitzel Wiener Art
This is the classic breaded pork cutlet, served crisp and golden brown with cranberries and homemade Bavarian potato salad.
Hähchenschnitzel
Not an “other white meat” type? Try this version with breaded chicken breast fried golden brown served with French fries.
Jägerschnitzel
If you’re feeling saucy, this is the Schnitzel for you. We take our tender pork cutlet and smother it in creamy mushroom sauce before topping it with bacon and onions and serving it with cranberries and spätzle.
Vegetarian Schnitzel
Even non-meat lovers can savor Schnitzel! We lightly bread vegetarian patties and serve them with potato-cucumber salad, cherry tomatoes and cranberries. It’s also available in a 100% vegan variety!
SCHNITZEL’S SIDEKICK
Sure, our Schnitzels come with a range of delightful sides, but we’re talking about the most important pairing of all. BIER.
No matter which Schnitzel suits your style, it is best when paired with our Hefe Weizen brew. The light and fruity flavor of this refreshing bier serves as the perfect complement to all of our Schnitzel’s unique flavors. It’s a must-try!
